Who’ll believe that little child
And who’ll listen to him when he cries
Because he’s feeling bad
And who’ll talk to that little boy
As he clings to his little toy
Because he’s feeling sad
And he doesn’t know what to say
Cos it’s happening every day to that little child
He’s so young and he can’t see
That things aren’t the way they should be
But deep inside he doesn’t want to be a little child
So he grows up and gets on fine
But through the years part of him has died
But not that little child
He seems to have a lot of fun
And he takes chances just like everyone
But he’s not just like everyone
For he learned not to care
It all happened way back there
He was young and didn’t see
That things weren’t the way they should be
But deep inside he didn’t want to be a little child
So who’ll believe that little child
And who’ll listen to him when he cries
Because he’s feeling bad
And who’ll talk to that little boy
As he clings to his little toy
Because he’s feeling sad
And he doesn’t know what to say
For it’s happening every day to that little boy
He’s so young and he can’t see
That things aren’t the way they should be
But deep inside he doesn’t want to be a little child
